USER AGREEMENT
Terms of Use and Community Rules
These terms form a binding agreement between you and Yayın öncesinde yapılandırılmalıdır when you create an account or use BiteScore's account-based services.
1. Service and operator
BiteScore is a product discovery, rating and community service operated by Yayın öncesinde yapılandırılmalıdır. Operator contact details appear in the Privacy Notice. The service is currently provided without a paid subscription unless a purchase screen expressly states otherwise.
2. Eligibility and account
- You must be at least 18 and legally capable of entering this agreement. Do not create an account for another person without authority.
- Provide accurate information, protect your credentials and notify us promptly of unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity performed through your account until notice, except where law provides otherwise.
- Social sign-in providers authenticate you but are not parties to this agreement. You may delete your account in Settings.
3. Limited licence
We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for lawful, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these terms. No ownership in BiteScore software, brand, design, database or editorial content is transferred.
4. Your content
- You retain ownership of content you create. You grant the operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, display, distribute and technically adapt it only to operate, secure, promote and improve BiteScore. This licence ends when content is deleted, subject to backups, lawful retention and copies shared by others.
- You confirm that your content is accurate to the best of your knowledge, is based on genuine experience where presented as a review, and does not infringe privacy, copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Do not submit unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, sexually exploitative, unsafe, spam, manipulated-review, undisclosed advertising, personal/sensitive data or malware content. Sponsored/editorial relationships must be clearly disclosed.
- We may remove, restrict or label content and may suspend accounts proportionately to protect users, comply with law or enforce these rules. You may request review through the contact channel.
5. Scores, product data and health warning
- The product score shown by BiteScore is calculated only from eligible community rating contributions. Each rating is converted into a contribution score and weighted using the contributor's BiteScore level snapshot recorded when the contribution is submitted or edited; the displayed result is the weighted average of those snapshots. It is not an editorial, manufacturer-provided or paid score.
- BiteScore scores, rankings, AI summaries and community opinions are subjective/informational outputs and can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. They are not a guarantee of quality, safety, availability or suitability.
- Unless a contribution is expressly labelled as a verified purchase, submitting a rating or displaying a review does not mean that BiteScore verified a purchase, transaction, product use or the contributor's identity.
- Positive and negative contributions are subject to the same submission, visibility, moderation and weighting rules. Undisclosed incentives, coordinated or manipulated reviews, automated ratings and other attempts to distort a score are prohibited and may be excluded or removed.
- Always check the physical package, ingredients, allergen statement, nutrition table, expiry date, storage instructions and manufacturer notices. Formulas can change. Do not use BiteScore for allergy, diagnosis, treatment, diet or emergency decisions; consult a qualified professional.
- Third-party product data, barcodes and images may come from manufacturers, users or Open Food Facts. Rights and accuracy remain with their sources. Report suspected errors.
6. Virtual rewards and gifts
BiteCoin, XP, levels, badges and virtual gifts have no cash value, are not electronic money, cannot be withdrawn or transferred outside permitted in-service functions, and may be adjusted for error, abuse or service balancing. Any future paid purchase will be governed by separate pre-contract information, price, cancellation/refund terms and app-store rules presented before payment.
7. Prohibited use
- Do not scrape or copy the database at scale; reverse engineer or bypass access controls; automate votes/ratings; impersonate others; harass users; probe security; introduce malicious code; use the service to train a competing model without written permission; or use content for unlawful commercial profiling.
8. Intellectual property and complaints
BiteScore marks, code, interface and original editorial content belong to the operator or licensors. To report copyright, trademark, privacy or unlawful content, email the legal contact with the URL/content ID, basis of the claim, supporting evidence and contact details. We may request identity or authority evidence and will evaluate notices in good faith.
9. Availability and liability
The service may change, be interrupted or discontinued for maintenance, security, law or product reasons. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect loss, decisions based solely on user/third-party content, or events outside reasonable control. These limitations do not apply to intent, gross negligence, personal injury caused by fault or other non-waivable liability.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may warn, restrict, suspend or terminate where reasonably necessary for a serious/repeated breach, security risk, legal requirement or harm to others. Except in urgent/legal cases, we aim to give reasons and a meaningful opportunity to appeal.
11. Governing law and consumer rights
Turkish law applies. Mandatory rights to apply to Consumer Arbitration Committees, Consumer Courts or other competent bodies remain unaffected; no clause forces a consumer to waive a statutory forum or remedy. Before litigation, you may contact us for an informal resolution.
12. Changes
Material adverse changes will be announced in advance where reasonably possible. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only to the extent legally valid; where renewed consent or express acceptance is required, it will be requested separately. The versions you affirm at registration or in a later onboarding step are recorded as evidence.
