COOKIE POLICY
Cookie and Similar Technologies Policy
BiteScore uses strictly necessary storage for security and preferences. Optional analytics storage remains off unless you choose to enable it, and you can change that choice at any time.
1. What these technologies are
Cookies are small text records saved by a browser. Similar technologies include session/local storage and mobile secure or asynchronous storage. They may be first-party (set by BiteScore) or third-party (set by an integrated provider). The mobile app does not use browser cookies for its bearer login, but stores a token securely and preferences locally.
2. Categories and current inventory
- Strictly necessary — session/authentication, CSRF and OAuth state/verifier cookies, language/theme, load/security functions, bs_consent and bs_consent_meta (choice, policy version and timestamp). These are required to provide a service you request, remember your choice or protect it and cannot be disabled through the consent panel.
- Optional analytics — bs_anon, bs_analytics_session, bs_search_count and analytics session-storage keys used to understand visits, searches and feature use. They are written or used only after consent.
- Third-party sign-in — Google and Apple may use their own cookies only when you choose their sign-in flow. Their policies apply on their domains.
- Mobile local storage — SecureStore holds the login token; AsyncStorage holds guest mode, theme, notification preference, unread signals and other device preferences. Removing the app or using account deletion/log-out clears relevant local data as described in the Privacy Notice.
3. Typical durations
- OAuth security cookies: about 10 minutes; authentication session: according to the active session policy; consent choice: up to 180 days; optional anonymous analytics identifier and search counter: up to 12 months; analytics session: up to 3 days; theme/language preferences: until changed or deleted.
4. Your choices
Accept and reject controls are offered with equal prominence. Rejecting optional analytics does not block registration, login, reviews or other core functions. Use “Cookie preferences” in the footer or the control below to withdraw or grant consent. Withdrawal takes effect prospectively and deletes accessible optional identifiers. You may also delete cookies in browser settings; blocking necessary cookies can prevent login or security flows.
5. Legal basis
Strictly necessary technologies are used to perform the service requested and for security/legitimate interests where permitted. Optional analytics is based on explicit consent under KVKK and the applicable electronic communications rules. The Privacy Notice provides the full data-processing information; consent is requested separately and is not a condition of the core service.
6. Updates and contact
This inventory is reviewed when providers or purposes change. A new optional category will not be activated before the required information and choice are provided. Questions may be sent to Yayın öncesinde yapılandırılmalıdır.
