COMMUNITY RULES

BiteScore Community Rules

These rules govern the 13+ general-audience BiteScore community. Every supported account uses the same current features under prominent online-safety, reporting, blocking and moderation rules. Restricted products remain unpublished and BiteData remains disabled.

1. Share Genuine Experience

  • Rate and review only what you have actually tried, and describe it as you experienced it.
  • Fake engagement, coordinated or manipulated reviews, rating manipulation, duplicate accounts, automated submissions, spam and undisclosed third-party incentives are prohibited. BiteScore may offer a clearly labelled platform-funded task whose reward is never conditional on a positive score or positive wording.
  • Any commercial, sponsorship, affiliate or employment relationship with a brand or product you write about must be disclosed clearly in the contribution itself.
  • While BiteData is disabled, your review may support only ordinary BiteScore visibility, core scoring, discovery, security and moderation. Public submission is not a commercial BiteData licence, and a pre-activation contribution will not become commercially eligible retrospectively.
  • Do not present any review as purchase-, product-use- or gifted-product-verified; BiteScore operates no such verification label. A review's public availability or task-reward disclosure is not permission to reuse the review, username, name, image or identity in advertising, influencer content or a testimonial. Such reuse requires separate, purpose-specific authorisation.

2. Respect People And Their Rights

  • No harassment, hate speech, threats, incitement, discrimination or sexual exploitation. Criticise products, not people.
  • Do not publish another person's private or sensitive personal data, images or communications without a lawful basis and their knowledge.
  • Do not publish content that infringes copyright, trademark, personality or other rights, and do not impersonate another person or organisation.

3. Understand What A BiteScore Means

  • A product score is built only from eligible community ratings, weighted by the contributor's level snapshot recorded at submission or edit. It is not editorial, manufacturer-provided or paid.
  • Positive and negative contributions are subject to identical submission, visibility, moderation and weighting rules.
  • A platform reward opportunity does not increase a review's score weight or require praise. The review is labelled from an immutable server record; older reviews whose creation-time reward context cannot be proven are labelled unknown rather than organic.
  • Only products classified PUBLISHED and GENERAL_AUDIENCE may appear in public scores, catalogue, search, recommendations, lists, Clash or community content. Do not attempt to expose, link or solicit a restricted or review-required product.
  • BiteScore does not verify a reviewer's purchase, transaction, product use, identity or whether a product was received as a gift. Reviews carry no VERIFIED, UNVERIFIED, UNKNOWN, purchase or gifted-product verification label.
  • A neutral BiteCoin/XP task reward does not increase score weight, require praise or prove how a product was obtained. User-to-user virtual gifts are a separate social feature. Undisclosed third-party incentives and manipulated reviews remain prohibited.

4. Put The Package And Safety First

  • Community content is not medical, allergy, diagnostic or nutrition advice, and must not be presented as such.
  • Do not state unlawful health claims: for example, that a food prevents, treats or cures a disease.
  • Always direct readers to the current physical package, ingredient list and allergen statement, which prevail over anything shown in the app.

5. Optional Product-Improvement Choices

Limited first-party product-experience telemetry is an optional choice for an authenticated account with the server-timestamped 13+ affirmation attached to the exact current Terms and Privacy editions. Guests and accounts without that current evidence cannot be asked to grant or contribute telemetry. BiteData demographic contribution remains disabled and adult-only. Accepting these Rules grants neither purpose.

  • Limited product-experience telemetry may be used to understand coarse search-use counts, feature use and technical performance. It never includes search text or content and starts only after its own just-in-time information and explicit-consent step. It is not used for advertising or cross-service tracking.
  • No new birth year, demographic gender category or province code is collected for BiteData, and no new demographic-consent presentation is issued while this edition is current. Any historical field or decision receipt is not an active BiteData input or future permission.
  • A future activation requires new Terms, Privacy Notice and Community Rules, updated store privacy declarations, a new purpose-specific just-in-time choice wherever consent is relied on, and prospective acceptance before processing begins. No review or other contribution made before activation becomes commercially eligible retrospectively.
  • An eligible 13+ account holder can refuse or withdraw telemetry in Settings without affecting the core service. It remains separate from BiteData and never authorises advertising, cross-service tracking, demographic contribution or organisation access.

6. Online Safety For Everyone

  • Accounts are 13+. Under-13 users must not create or use an account. Every account holder makes the same single 13+ self-declaration and, where applicable law requires it, confirms that parent or legal-representative permission exists. This is not verified age, adult action, consent, identity or legal capacity.
  • Every supported 13+ account may use the same current general-audience community, social, messaging and free-text features after the required current legal acceptances. These features remain subject to the same reporting, blocking and moderation controls.
  • Online contact can create real-world risk. Never ask for or share passwords, financial or identity data, private images or precise location, and never use contact details for coercion, exploitation or unwanted contact. Email addresses, phone numbers, social handles and ordinary links are not automatically prohibited when shared voluntarily. Never pressure anyone to move elsewhere or meet offline; use report and block controls when contact feels unsafe.
  • Child sexual abuse or exploitation material (CSAM/CSAE), sexualisation or exploitation of a child, grooming, sextortion and child trafficking are strictly prohibited. Do not request, create, upload, share, link to, solicit, trade, threaten to disclose or otherwise facilitate such material or conduct.
  • Use BiteScore's in-app report control on the relevant content or account, and block the account when needed. Do not redistribute suspected child sexual abuse material when reporting it. If a child is in immediate danger, also contact the competent public authority or emergency service.

7. Enforcement, Appeal And Blocking

  • Content may be removed, restricted or labelled and accounts may be warned, restricted or suspended proportionately to protect users, comply with law or enforce these rules.
  • A material sanction is not based solely on an automated result. You may request human review through the contact channel, and we aim to give reasons except where urgent or legally precluded.
  • Reports are triaged on receipt and answered as quickly as possible. Notices alleging a violation of personal rights are handled with priority. Write to legal@bitescore.co.
  • You may block another member at any time. Blocking stops messages, friend requests, gifts and notifications between the two accounts in both directions.
